To see all stduents listed at once: i. ??? 2. General Strategy for uploading: a. First create new Items in Gradebook i. Use Add Item Icon ii. Set Display as to Score (allows numerical values) b. Download their file: gb_export.csv i. Use Download grades Icon (may be way over to right on Mozilla) c. Add appropriate columns to gb_export.csv i. Choose "same format" on save ii. Can set format to e.g. two past decimals, using the Decrease Decimal button on the tool bar d. Do and upload, from the file, one column at a time e. For computed columns, may need to 1st save spreadsheet as something else, and use the following to turn everything into numbers that can be nicely copied in. i. Select the cells to turn from formulas to values. ii. Toolbar --> Copy Icon iii. Select the first cell iv. Toolbar --> Paste Icon menu --> Choose "values" 3. Careful about Dropping Lowest 2 HWs: a. Can do this with command like: =(SUM(H2:T2)-SMALL(H2:T2,1)-SMALL(H2:T2,2))/11 b. But make sure that missing HWs are coded with 0's 4. To make the grades "available" to the students: a. The problem you are having with viewing certain Bb pages in Mozilla is posted at http://help.unc.edu/?id=5317 A: From Control Panel, click Gradebook. Click the column heading link corresponding with the assessment or assignment. Click Item Information. Display as will be set to the default option, Complete/Incomplete. Click the dropdown list and select Score. Click Submit. Click OK. Click OK to return to the main Gradebook view. Q: I'm not seeing the button for weighting or other options in Blackboard's Gradebook. Where are they? A: While in the Spreadsheet View of the Gradebook, keep your eye on the toolbar as you scroll to the right. This problem in Mozilla-based browsers will be fixed in the next system upgrade, currently scheduled for May 14-15, 2005.
